Q. Should I get a bin and move my own rubbish, or should I get some one one else to load and take it away?

A. It depends on many factors. For example, if you only have a single item or a very small amount of rubbish it will always be cheaper to get Just Rubbish to take it. But, if you need time or have huge amounts of rubbish, a bin may be better. Access is important too. Sometimes there is nowhere to put a bin and it is easier to load the truck on the spot. This also means that you don't have a bin lying around for the neighbours to fill! Whatever you situation Just Rubbish can help.

Q. Which is cheaper; hiring a bin or you loading and taking my rubbish away?

A. Often it's cheaper for Just Rubbish to load for you, especially if your rubbish is light and easily accessible. It also depends on whether you put a price on your time. By the time you hire a trailer or a bin, load it, and pay tipping fees you probably won't have saved much at all.

Q. Which areas of Melbourne do you service?

A. Just Rubbish specialises in the inner suburbs, especially the Inner North, CBD and Inner Western suburbs.

Q. Why are Mattresses so expensive to dispose of?

A. Tips hate mattresses because they don't compact or crush. They charge a Mattress Surcharge at all tips, ranging from $20.00 to $100.00 per mattress. The tip that I use charges an extra $40.00 per mattress, on top of their normal tipping fee.

Q. Can you take green waste with other rubbish?

A. Yes, but there may be an extra charge for a "mixed load" because tips often have a green waste surcharge.

Q. Does Just Rubbish Recycle?

A. Yes, whenever practicable. Green waste can be recycled if it is 100% Green. Steel is also recycled, as well as paper and cardboard. Good usable items are often donated to charities.Brick and concrete can also be recycled if not mixed with other rubbish.

Q. Your truck holds 6 cubic metres. How much is that?

A. A cubic metre is about the equivalent of a level ute or small trailer load.A large fridge would be around 1 cubic metre.

Q: Why is heavy rubbish more expensive to remove than light rubbish?

A. We are charged by weight at the tip. Currently the charge is $125.00 a tonne with a minimum charge of one tonne ($125.00). Also, heavy rubbish is usually more time consuming to load, and much harder work.

Q.How much weight can your truck take?

A. A maximum of 2 tonne. A cubic metre of dry soil or about 250 bricks would weigh about a tonne.

Q. How much notice do you need?

A. Small local jobs (Carlton, Brunswick) may be able to be done on the same day. Larger jobs require 2 or 3 days notice.

Q. Can you move my rubbish if I'm not home?

A. Yes. As long as your rubbish is accessible I am able to remove it, and either call through the price, or leave an invoice for you. All I ask is that you pay within 7 days.

Q. How do I pay you?

A. You can pay by cash, cheque or deposit funds directly into my account.

Q. Will your truck fit in my lane or driveway?

A. My truck fits down most lanes and drives. It is 2.1 metres wide, 4 metres long and 2.4 metres high with the bin on.
